David Lloyd joined Cayman audit and legal practitioners on a panel examining the move from VASP registration to custody licensing, CIMA’s February 2026 Rule and Statement of Guidance on Market Conduct for Virtual Asset Service Providers, and the March 2026 amendments that bring qualifying tokenised fund interests within the funds framework.

A custody licence gives a fund board a stronger starting point for due diligence. It does not replace the work of confirming that a fund’s assets exist, are held for the fund and are controlled as its documents describe.
